Clearview joins girls golf program
OSNABURG TWP. - Clearview Golf Club has been chosen as a host site for a new girls golf initiative, sponsored by the Ladies Professional Golf Association and the U.S. Golf Association.
LPGA member and club pro Renee Powell will serve as site director for the year-round program, which will include educational sessions on rules, etiquette and golf history, as well as practice on the driving range and putting green and course play. The program will serve as a developmental junior golf program for girls ages 7-17.
Program participants also can expect course activities with parents, a trip to an LPGA tournament and a visit from LPGA pro Tammie Green, tour captain for Girls Golf at Clearview.
Girls Golf is an expansion of a national club program, started in Phoenix in 1989. More than 2,400 girls at 98 sites nationwide participate in the program, whose partners include the LPGA, USGA and Girls Scouts of the USA.
